looks like i'm in the market for an mp3 player...

Nov. 26th, 2006 | 03:24 am

My wonderful Zen Micro Photo finally decided enough was enough. Around 2am, my player committed hurri kurri and decided to display "hardware problem". Before now it was a hiccup, a problem with the firmware or a corrupt file, but now it really went bonkers. it kind of... fizzed out of work and submitted to the inevitable.

Don't get me wrong, i've had plenty of mp3 players. Creative's is the most intuitive and a great, friendly companion. I sumise this one had a bad drive or reader- because the problems all had to do with reading the data incorrectly.

*sigh* I may have to wait for a month to get a replacement, i dont know what my parent's are getting me :(

A new area of unknown has been reached. I just accepted the job offer for an SQA (Software Quality Assurance) position at CustomFlix.

I just pray that I am prepared to keep my school work top priority. There are a few changes that I am making to my schedule. A little less time vegging on the computer and more time studying right after class. Only time will tell, though I feel that God has been urging me to accept. The interview alone was something of a new experience.

Many things

Nov. 3rd, 2006 | 03:57 am

Midterms are tomorrow, and I just got back from Ben's dorm after a 3 hour study session. My brain is goop, and not because of the cramming but just the math itself. It's crazy annoying, a whole bunch of identities that don't make me very happy.

Anyways, I was offered a job at Customflix. It has good hours and pay, but they're asking me to work for 6 weeks during the summer, which will be hard for me. We'll see how things go, only time will tell. I'm taking a day or so to think the offer over. As much as I am leaning towards accepting such an awesome job offer, I need to keep my family in the details. I don't see them a lot as it is.

On a spiritual note, I met with my Cell group for the first time. Basically a cell group represents a cell in the body of Christ. Jesus told his disciples to make small groups of their own, and this is modeled after the group of disciples. The guys are awesome, the leader is great and very wise. I really feel like i belong. It really allowed me to think about what was going on in my life, about the job offer and everything.

It's 3 am and I need my sleep for tomorrow... I guess I'll skip my CSC class lecture to get some more sleep--- a first time for everything i suppose.

Cheers *snore*

Interviews n Things

Nov. 1st, 2006 | 12:56 am

I have an interview set up for 1:30pm tomorrow (Wednesday). Wish me luck.

Also, my site kind of took off today. It received ten times as many visitors as it did in almost all the previous combined. It's pretty amazing. It's kind of due to a blogging community I joined. Hopefully I will begin to grab readers' attention (although the latest post is a little more controversial than I would like. It may make certain people annoyed but oh well...)

About google and squirrels.

Oct. 26th, 2006 | 09:17 am

Is it a bad thing when google gets credit for 14 percent of my traffic, and that it is the second most often visitor at my site? Or that it has generated 28 megs of bandwidth? Or that my wiki (which has nothing in it whatsoever, it was just installed and not used) is the most viewed site?

In other news, LOOK AT THE SQUIRREL!

He was just sitting there, nick actually brushed against it when he was taking this close up picture. this was done with NO zoom (he just forgot to adjust the focus on my camera, which has a macro mode)

Ah, finished

Oct. 24th, 2006 | 12:03 am

Probably should not have heald off math this long just to finish my website, but it's finished. Check it out here:

Basicaly a simple blog. I'm just learning the basics, but hopefully this will teach me how to write more clearly, how to write better argumentative essays, and get my ideas and views noticed. The site itself started out really simple, and has grown to a rather nice blog, I can say I'm proud of it.

Anyways, school is nice. My English teacher is letting me make up an in class essay which i slept through (ask me online, its a funny story!) and I'm not doing bad in other classes.

I need sleep, night!

True Dat.

Oct. 17th, 2006 | 05:23 pm

Took a quiz today. Is it bad when i answer "A crunchy suburban is two items under the spicey chicken suburben supreme"? My teacher told me he would give me a half point, but he rounds down :P

Anyways, have you ever watched an old movie and realized just how creative it was? I watched the original star trek movie last night, and am in the middle of watching the third one (search for spock). Its just so awesome! What happened to the creativity of series like that? It's good :)

*sigh* Why is it so hard to draw? I mean, I can't even draw BAD art... Halfway into a sketch the left side of my brain flicks into full gear and owns my creativity.

I came across a wonderful sketch someone had just "put together" when he (or she... it was on dev art) was bored. I guess it just comes to some people and doesn't for others.

I had given up on drawing a while back, but now i realize I shouldn't have. I shouldn't focus on it, but drawing is good for you... keeps your logical side under control.
